"Okay." Wash gave a little nod, just to indicate that he understood, and they fell back into silence. With York still really really close to him. Wash didn't make any move to put any space back between them, but he did shift a bit, just...uncomfortable. The lack of space was making it hard to think about anything other than...well, all those things he's always wanted to do to York.

And then he realized the boy was staring at his lips. Which made him all the more self-conscious, but at the same time... Did that mean he was interested too? Was that why he was standing so close and smiling like that and staring at his lips? It was so tempting to ask, but god if he was reading things wrong, it would make things so awkward. Not to mention that even if York was interested in the same way he was, they still shouldn't do anything. Not with the age gap. Not with York just barely being above considered a minor.

But then there was a hand on the back of his neck, York's face moving closer, and soon to follow was a soft press of lips against his own. Eyes widening, Wash didn't move for a few moments, the shock taking over him. Was this seriously happening??? Was York actually kissing him right now??? It had to be a dream, or some way too real fantasy going on. Had to be.

...But wasn't. Because the hand and those lips were very real, as was the breath Wash could feel against his face. His brain was telling him to be smart, be the mature one and push the boy off, no matter whether their feelings were the same or not. ...But the rest of him was telling him to go with this because this was what he'd been wanting. The rest of him won out, ultimately, and thus after what felt like ages of remaining still, Wash finally moved. His eyes closed over, and he began to actually respond to the kiss, pressing in from his side to add just a little more pressure. Just to show his shared want for this.
